Vunani pumps P600k into women's Sports Awards

The awards will be held on March 23 at a venue to be decided. “After careful consideration and deliberation within Vunani, we found it fit to sponsor as the headliner for a period of three years for P600 000,” said Obakeng Mmusinyane, VFM business development manager. The P600,000 will be disbursed over three years with P200, 000 set aside for each year of the deal. The awards will now be named after the new headline sponsor. “These awards certainly provide hope that Botswana will one day achieve great milestones in the sports world and be recognized globally and we are happy to announce that under a new sponsorship the awards will now be called Vunani Annual Women Sports Awards unlike before,” he said.
Mmusinyane further stated that the new sponsor deal will not only cover prize money for the winners on the day, but will also extend to the logistics and other related event costs.
The Vunani Women Sports Awards has 17 categories which are as follows and their prize monies; 1. Sportswoman of the Year: P20, 000 2. Journalist of the Year- Print: P5, 000 3. Photographer of the Year: P5, 000 4. Sports Journalist of the Year -TV: P5, 000 5. Umpire of the Year: P10, 000 6. Administrator of the Year: P10, 000 7. Coach of the Year: P10, 000 8. Team of the Year: P25, 000 9. He For She Champion: P10, 000 10: Young Promising Female Athlete: P7, 500 11: Sportswoman of the Year with Disability: P20, 000 12: Sports Journalist of the Year - Radio: P5, 000 13: Volunteer of the Year: P5, 000 14: Champion for Equality Award: 15: Courage Award: P10 000 16: CEO's Special Award: Trophy 17: CEO's Special Award: P10 000
