'JCE results show no improvement '

 



The overall performance of government schools as reported by BEC indicates that students who obtained Grade C or better is at 37.00% which shows slight improvement by 0.20% as in 2022 it was 36.80%. The report further stated that for students who obtained Grade E or better, the percentage stands at 82.70% compared to 86.00% in 2022 showing a decline of 3.30%.

"It is therefore, concluded that the performance of the 2023 government school candidates is at the same level as that of 2022," BEC stated.

BEC further maintained that the performance of government and private candidates put together still remain the same compared to the 2022 results.

"Performance for all candidates including private candidates indicates that the proportion of candidates obtaining Grade C or better is at 34.24% compared to 32.73% in 2022 showing an improvement of 1.51%, whereas the proportion of candidates obtaining Grade E or better is at 77.79% compared to 78.10% in 2022 which signifies same level of performance with a difference of 0.31%," BEC reported.

The examinations body highlighted that the pass rate of the 2023 cohort is 77.79%
