Police suspect that a syndicate targeting Honda Fit, Madza Demio and Toyota RunX car models could be on the loose in the area.

In an interview with The Monitor, Mochudi Police Station commander, Superintendent Joel Masilo said they were investigating a case in which a Toyota Wish was stolen in Boseja ward, Mochudi, on Saturday morning. He said the owner of the vehicle had just arrived home at around 03:50hrs and went inside the house to take a bath only to return to find the vehicle missing.

“Since around October last year, we have been recording cases involving vehicles which were never recovered. We suspect that the criminals might have established a market for the cars in neighbouring South Africa," said Masilo, adding that the police were hard at work to infiltrate what is seemingly the work of organised criminals. "There appears to be a market for these cars somewhere," Masilo said, explaining that the vehicles are mostly stolen in the homes at night.
