Rollers move to the top

Popa have a point over rivals, Gaborone United (GU) ahead of the derby tie scheduled for this Wednesday.
It was an evenly contested first 15 minutes but BDF looked more threatening. Matebele, however, conceded a penalty on the 18th minute and Segolame Boy sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot to give Rollers the lead.
BDF were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute and Motlomelo Mkwanazi equalised from the spot with a powerful shot.
Rollers were quick to regain the lead as Mogakolodi Ngele volleyed in Thabo Rakhale's cross in the 28th minute.
On the other hand, Tefo Molefe forced a superb save from Kabelo Dambe from a tight angle on the 33rd minute. BDF squandered a glorious chance moments later. Dambe spilled what looked like a routine save and the ball fell onto Mkwanazi but he shot wide off the post. Popa took a 2-1 lead in to the break. After a slow start to the second half, substitute Agrippa Murimba looked to make an immediate impact but his shot was well saved by Dambe in the 55th minute.
He redeemed himself three minutes later as he beat Dambe to a near post to make it 2-2. Thabo Rakhale could have given Rollers the lead but his acrobatic attempt was just wide off of the post on the 61st minute. BDF failed to capitalise from yet another mistake by Dambe. “We should have kept our lead; we should not have allowed BDF to come back but bearing the situation, it does. We lost concentration and BDF scored,” Rollers’ head coach, Innocent Morapedi said.
