Eyeing a good start: Jwaneng Galaxy will play Morocco’s Wydad PIC: PHATSIMO KAPENG

The two teams will clash late tomorrow evening at the Grand Stade De Marrakech, Morocco. The Galaxy Stars find themselves amongst the top 16 in Africa's elite inter-club competitions. The team's head coach, Morena Ramoreboli will be looking to better the single point Galaxy won the last time they played in the CAF Champions League group stages in the 2021-2022 season.

The team will make their fourth trip to North Africa and is eyeing a change in fortunes. In their previous three visits to North Africa to face opponents from Algeria and Tunisia, Galaxy conceded 11 times and scored on three occasions. However, this season the team look better defensively having let in just three games in four preliminary rounds games. Their defence will face a difficult test on Saturday. Wydad has found the back of the net five times in the African Football League. The team plays a fluid counter-pressing style of football and could provide all sorts of problems for the local boys. WAC's Adil Ramzi has an abundance of international talent in his squad, which could work against Galaxy.

Team news Galaxy had less than a day with the national team players before their departure. Ramoreboli is sweating over the match sharpness of Gilbert Baruti, Goitseone Phoko, Kitso Mangolo and Thabang Sesinyi who spent the previous two weeks in the Zebras camp. Forward, Omaatla Kebatho and central midfielder, Dynamo Fredricks will be out due to knee injuries. On the bright side, Namibian forward, Ambrosius Amseb could make his team debut in the competition.

The opponents This is a team that has appeared 16 times in the CAF Champions League. Wydad have won the competition on three occasions while they have finished third on a further three times. The team has been ever present in this stage of the Champions League since 2011. Wydad finished second to Mamelodi Sundowns in the African Football League.
