Addressing the media recently, Dabutha stated that Mozwane has incessantly established itself as one of the challenging issues that continue to be at the forefront in their everyday business at MTF. Dabutha denoted that as MTF their mandate is to always look after children of all age and over the past few years it has proved to be challenging. She stated that mozwane is an issue on the rise and if not attented to, it will open a can of worms as it is core issue of many challenges they face.

“We really want to put an end to mozwane, as this issue disrupts the lives of our children who should really be well looked after. And it is this mozwane that our children go astray, they go to these places bake space cakes, drink alcohol and it does not only end there they end up having sex,” she sadly revealed.

Dabutha further echoed that poor parenting is the root of this problem. “We really should have parenting as one of our mandates, because most parents are poor at parenting and this is where most problems start. Most parents think giving children money is a symbol of love but it’s not, money can’t buy love,” Dabutha said.

She further pointed that students mostly use combis for mozwane as students are seen dancing and listening to loud music. However she appealed to the public and parents to work together in order to curb the issues they have on their hands so that children do not go astray.
