‘Premier League is no motivation for Gunners’

Nare’s Gunners have maintained a good run with 2-0 win over UB Hawks in a Debswana First Division South league match played at the National Stadium on Friday evening.
Chico said he is aware of the expectations for an immediate return to the top flight but said the league is not enticing and the second tier should allow Gunners to rebuild.
“You can not be rushing to a league where there is no sponsor, where there is no money. So the contracts I am having here are cheaper but when we gain promotion next year or when, it is 10,000 plus and that 10,000 I am not getting from the league. Why can't we just get Township Rollers down to First Division and we create a better vibe in the First Division, where there are no charges. The package in the Premier League is no motivation to go back, so let us try to rebuild Gunners,”he said.

So let us try to build bridges, let us try to have an office, a car before we can think of promotion. We cannot take away the hype that supporters want their Gunners back in the elite league. But that is for the new man who has just come in, to tell me where he wants the team to be. I follow the vision of my leaders not my visions, he says sir I want my team in the elite league then I will answer perfectly,” Nare said
Hawks had started off brightly with Aobakwe Galetshabe, first on the fourth and on the 11th minute but on both occasions he was denied by the goalkeeper. Gunners opened the scores on the 16th minute thanks to a long range effort by Boyo Lechaena. Thapelo Legae was close to making it 2-0 for Gunners but his header was wide off the post. It could have been level at half time as Galetshabe had his shot blocked on the 44th minute, before he was denied on a one-on-one by the keeper a minute later. Gunners led 1-0 at the break.
Hawks looked the better of the two teams in the second half but could not make decisive pass. It was 2-0 for Gunners on the 63rd minute thanks to goalkeeping blunder. Tom Malesela fumbled what should have been routine save and Kabo Matshula from close range pounced and blasted the ball in to the back of the net.
