Prince Tom continues ode to late mother

The event, which is done in collaboration with Grand Palm Hotel, will take place at the hotel’s Marquee on October 28. Prince Tom’s mother, Khumo Tom, passed away in 2011 when he was doing his Form One and the artist has since last year come up with the exhibition to honour her memory as she had encouraged him to follow his passion.
A ballad is a short love story often a short poem with at least three stanzas or a short love song. And Prince Tom has decided to share his love story with her mother through art expression.
It is said that her death coincided with the time he was introduced to Art as a subject. The exhibition curator, Thabo Kgatlwane, said just like last year, this is a solo exhibition featuring art pieces and painted models with an auction at the end of the exhibition. “For Khumo’, which is an ode to Khumo Tom, Prince’s late mom is an exhibition that Prince Tom and I have been planning for about four years now. With it being in the works for so long, we have curated it to be as passionate and as exciting as possible,” Kgatlwane said.
He said Prince Tom has decided to use warm colours to express a wide range of subjects for this exhibition. During the inaugural show, the artist showcased 25 paintings and nine body art models. He had also exhibited a limited number of large canvas paintings and body art models. Furthermore, he guaranteed everyone who will attend the exhibition that they will have the experience of a lifetime. Tickets for the exhibition sell for P200.
