Speculation about the circumstances suggests he may have been poisoned during a night out at a local club, adding to the disconcerting trend of alcohol-related incidents in the nightlife scene in Francistown, also known as Ghetto.

The young man, identified as a Botswana Accountancy College student, reportedly collapsed and began vomiting blood after a night out with friends at the said club. Following his collapse, he was rushed to the hospital and subsequently admitted to the ICU, where he regrettably succumbed to his condition nine days later.

Francistown Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Douglas Khumalo disclosed to The Monitor the investigation into the suspicious death is ongoing. A post-mortem was conducted on Friday to ascertain the cause of death. Khumalo expressed the need for more information to piece together the events leading to the tragic incident.

"We have not yet determined exactly what transpired on the tragic day. We still need to know where he was when he enjoyed the night out, who he was with, and what led to his untimely demise," he said.

The acting police chief urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in their investigations.
