The party secretary-general Lawrence Ookeditse announced yesterday that in his new role, Khama will work with party secretary-general, national organizing secretary Ford Moiteela and the party treasury Lazarus Lekgoanyana and Onneile Fox Segwai to form the nucleus of the campaign leadership.

“With this very high profile appointment, the BPF is declaring intention to effect regime change in Botswana at the 2024 General Election with its UDC partners. Pursuant to this, all patriotic forces of our country are urged to prepare to register for the general election in huge numbers,” reads a statement from Ookeditse. Furthermore, Ookeditse said the party intends to cover every little grain of soil as they work tirelessly to restore people's dignity and pride.

“Batswana will have a choice between a divisive failed Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) system led by a thoroughly incompetent president that does not see Botswana and Batswana as one; and a coalition of forces that will deliver double the jobs the BDP system allows, decent pay, rural development, enhanced social security for our senior citizens, adequate health care, investment in sport and arts, relentless fight against corruption and equality of opportunity for all,” he added.

Ookeditse pleaded with the BPF members to offer Khama and the team the necessary assistance as they work towards ending ‘BDP misrule’. He said together with the UDC, they offer Batswana a real choice at a government that will give them a real shot at better lives at fulfilling their potential.
