Gunners to develop own clothing brand

The Peleng giants this week announced the signing of Pako Obakeng, Oratile Mhaladi, Thapelo Legae, Onkokame Koontse, Boyo Lechaena, and Gape Thibedi.
Interestingly, all the players appeared on the club’s social media page donning the All Kasi kit, triggering speculation that the Peleng giants might have reconciled with their former technical sponsor ahead of the start of the new season.
However, club chairperson, Isaac Mmualefe, said it was only for the photo shoot and that there is no agreement in place for a long-term deal. “Our intention is to acquire our brand because we are trying by all means to raise funds for this club.
So the All Kasi kit that you saw in the pictures was just for a photo shoot. There is no agreement in place at the moment for All Kasi to be our technical sponsors,” he said.
Mmualefe also explained that the ‘Thama’ badge that appeared on the kit is just a slogan by the new committee, which means ‘to be happy’. He said the slogan comes in the wake of some difficult periods the club went through and that they now strive to live happily going forward as a club. He said they look forward to happier days after bolstering their squad with some of the finest talents in the country.
The 23-year-old Obakeng signed a three-year deal from Gabane United, while Mhaladi (28), signed a two-year deal from Nico United. He has previously played for Miscellaneous, Black Forest and Matebejana.
Legae arrived on a season-long loan from Township Rollers, joining his former teammate, Lechaena who has signed a two-year deal. Koontse signed from VTM while Thibedi joined from Gaborone United (GU).
Thibedi has previously played for Orapa United. “The technical team, which has been with this club for a few months before the end of last season, made recommendations to sign these players. We were not successful with signing others that they recommended obviously because of financial challenges. We want to make sure that we have a competitive team next season,” Mmualefe said.
Meanwhile, the Gunners chairperson said they continue to look for potential investors despite reports that they have entered into a 15-year agreement with a local businessman. “We are still looking for investors and once everything has been agreed to and signed, we will make an announcement,” he said.
