Mahalapye woman attacked, raped in her sleep

In the early hours of Saturday morning, the victim was subjected to a horrifying ordeal when an intruder forcibly entered her home, attacked her and raped her. The incident transpired at approximately 12:15am within the victim's residence and was promptly reported on the same morning. Senior Superintendent Nicholas Kadiatla, the No.16 District Officer Commanding, provided details of the incident.
He revealed that during the assault, the intruder, a 33-year-old man also from the same ward, was apprehended and subsequently arrested. Moreover, he had stolen the victim's mobile phone, which was later recovered upon his arrest.
"While the victim was asleep, she was abruptly awakened by the intruder who not only subjected her to sexual assault but also demanded her phone before fleeing the scene," Kadiatla elaborated. "Luckily, the perpetrator has been apprehended and is currently in police custody, facing charges of rape and robbery. Investigations into this matter are ongoing and he will soon appear before Mahalapye Magistrate’s Court."
