It has been years since the BOKA financial report was presented, which has led to the downfall of the former president, Tshepho Bathai. This time around, the absence of the treasurer, Kemmonye Seletamotse, prevented the financial report from being presented and BOKA president Mpho Bakwadi explained the delay.

"The report is not ready. All I request is to be given three weeks to prepare it. Remember that we came into office in January, so we are going to account for three months. We had a challenge accessing the bank statement from the last financial year," he said. However, Bakwadi told Mmegi Sport on Wednesday that the treasurer was actively working on the report.

"She is working on it; I will make sure that it is done," he added. Some delegates voiced concerns and called for the removal of the treasurer. Otto Tafa, the Kufukan chief instructor, expressed surprise that the AGM was to be held in June and now held in September, the financials were not ready even at this time. “The report was also not presented in the past AGM. We are not making progress. Now you are telling us you need three weeks, but we are not sure if the report will be ready by then,” he said.

Ofentse Bakwadi, the Hayashi-Ha secretary-general, stressed that the absence of the treasurer was problematic and urged avoiding past issues caused by the financial report. Vice president-administration, Moemedi Nthapelelang, explained that the executive committee couldn't present a report they had not considered. "We were going to finalise and adopt the report before this meeting, unfortunately, the treasurer was not available. We do not have the report here because of those challenges that we faced," he added.

When asked about her absence and the financial report, Seletamotse said the delegates "know the truth". During the meeting, there was extensive discussion regarding the payment of BOKA affiliation fees by Karate Nomichi. Delegates were informed that Nomichi's membership had been unfairly terminated due to allegations of non-payment of the annual affiliation fee for the financial year 2022-2023.

However, they had indeed paid the fee P2,000 fee on March 31, 2022, through a bank ATM deposit, as evidenced in the BOKA bank statement. Seletamotse confirmed to Mmegi Sport that the payment made by Nomichi had been received. “Nomichi chairperson, Moemedi Mpebe, paid P2,000 on March 31, 2022, at an ATM in Kanye,” she said.
