Reports suggest that patrons at bars in the village are not only consuming alcohol in public spaces, but are also playing loud music from their vehicles, causing sleepless nights for residents.

Tlokweng Police Station commander, Superintendent Unoziba Rari expressed his concerns to The Monitor about the lack of peace experienced by residents who live in properties near the bars.

Patrons frequently park their vehicles by the residents’ gates and play music at high volumes late into the night. Rari noted that many of these bars employ DJs who position their sound systems outside the establishments, often disregarding the impact on their neighbours.

"Drinking outside the premises, blaring music from vehicles, and placing sound systems far from the bar are all violations. We have been consistently issuing fines ranging from P1,000 upwards to motorists, confiscating sound equipment, and cautioning bar owners about this behaviour.

Unfortunately, our efforts have not yielded the desired results.

I implore bar owners and motorists to show consideration for the peace of others," Rari appealed.
