The driver, a 35-year-old man, was promptly arrested and is presently in police custody as investigations continue. Superintendent Lokae stated, "While accidents occurring at night often involve drivers under the influence of alcohol, in this case, the driver was tested and found to be sober." In a separate incident that occurred on the same night at around 9:20pm, another individual, likely around 35 years old, was injured in a hit-and-run accident. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the road from BBS Market towards BBS Mall when the incident happened.

The victim sustained severe head injuries and is currently in critical condition at GPH. Superintendent Lokae further added, "We are currently working on identifying the injured individual, as he is unable to communicate. Our efforts are focused on locating and apprehending the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run, as the driver failed to stop after the accident."
