Unidentified pedestrian dies on A1 hit

Divisional Traffic Officer for South Central, Assistant Commissioner Reginald Matlhaba told The Monitor in an interview that the accident occurred at around 10pm and investigations are ongoing to establish how he was hit by a car whilst at the bus stop. “The identity of the man in his 30s is not yet known because he did not have any form of identification in his possession,” he said.
Matlhaba revealed that in another accident that occurred on Sunday in Mochudi, another man in his 30s who was a passenger also died in a road mishap after the car he was travelling in was involved in a collision in Mochudi.
He stated that it looks like one of the drivers lost control of the car and drove into an oncoming lane causing the collision. “The other passenger and both drivers who escaped the accident with minor injuries were treated and released the same day at Deborah Retief Memorial Hospital,” he said.
