Summit organisers align outdated US perceptions

The summit took off in Gaborone this week with over 1,200 delegates. Speaking at a welcome reception, where he was impressed by the turnout at the summit, vice chairperson of the CCA William Ward said they are making a difference.

“For economic growth across all businesses, industry sectors, including information technology, agriculture, health, infrastructure, manufacturing and creative arts, and Africa is phenomenal,” Ward highlighted.

Ward also reiterated the mission statement of CCA which is; to support favorable trade legislation that helps expand available financing for investments which encourages partnerships between the private sectors of the United States and Africa. He said these trade legislations work to strengthen the rule of law, sanctity of agreements, and promotes a climate conducive to long-term investment. The welcome reception was sponsored by ABSA. It was held at Hotel 430 in Gaborone.
