In an interview with Art & Culture, she explained that she decided to write the book on motherhood because she considers motherhood a learning process that never ends.

She added that mothers learnt about the strengths they never knew they had. She added that even in a bad day they had to show those strengths. Magonare added that mothers learn every day and also have to raise their children according to their gifts and personalities. “This is a book of hope, leadership as well as a book of change to mothers both biological and guardians.

The book is published by DarcyGlam (Pty) Ltd in June 2023. It is a new book. As it is in the book, we should be mothers who smile at other mothers in public. Be that mother who tells another mother how amazing she looks, even on a tough day. It serves as a tool to encourage, guide and be resourceful. It has 115 pages and consists 13 chapters,” she explained.

Furthermore, she pointed out that the book talks about the ups and downs of motherhood, how to be fulfilled, raise stable and happy kids. She said she wrote the book because she was also a mother.

She added that she realised how the world changed adding that mothers were going through a lot to raise good behaving kids, happy kids while at the same time they had to provide for them, be there emotionally and psychologically. She further said parenting nowadays is in some way influenced by social media adding that at the same time mothers needed to be aware of how social media could impact them and children.

She added that social media had and was still helping mothers with some advice to confidently nurture their children. She said parents meet in different groups to motivate each other, which was very good as at the end of the day, they were all learning and motherhood has no formula. “I really had a hard time and interesting moments when compiling this book. As an author and a mother, I realised how the world expectations on motherhood are big and some unreal. Raising a child is not something one can equal to any job.

Mothers are there 24/7 in children’s lives. Mothers are pillars of the nation. My target audience is all mothers, the birth mothers and guardians, be they male or female,” she said. “We still have aunts who have taken care of their siblings’ children and have produced well-rounded kids.

We should be proud of such guardians and we should be able to have such people and organisations that chose to mother and love orphans and abandoned children. Children need love, acceptance, guidance and above all they need to be happy,” Magonare pointed out.

Moreover, she said few people read the book while some shared ideas with some mothers. She explained that many of her readers were excited that finally they will have their own fighting weapon. She said she called it a mother’s war room book adding that it was her third published book.

She added that she successfully published and launched her other books which were different from ‘I am A Good Mother’. She further pointed out that her new book was too personal. She explained that her previous two books were about the former president Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama and the late Kofi Annan, which are more like selective biographies. As a writer she said she would like to convert her books into audio books.

“I like the chapter which talks about social media parenting. This chapter is all about the reality of social media in our lives. We like to show our kids by posting them on socials. I do not have any problems with social media and I do consider what I post about my children. So this chapter was very close to my heart as this is what we are into, technology parenting. Apart from being an author, I am a qualified technician as I did Bachelor of Science in Computing and also do some online retail business as another stream of income,” she ended.
