Tatitown Police Station commander, Superintendent Boipuso Baatweng told The Monitor that the incident was reported to them by a herder who was passing by at Belinah Lands near Marobela village.

Baatweng said the matter was reported by a 42-year-old man who explained that his herder found a burnt body whilst searching for their cows. He stated that when they attended to the matter, they found a body that was burnt beyond recognition but which they were able to identify to be of a woman. “We haven’t received any report of a missing person nor arrested anyone related to the incident.

The deceased body is still at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem to be conducted,” the station head revealed.

He pleaded with the community to contact them at 2647231 if they have information relating to the incident or they can visit any police station nearest to them. The Tatitown police chief said they should not fear anything, as they will keep their identity protected.

The identity of the deceased woman remains unknown and a suspect is still at large, stated Baatweng.
