Station commander for the area, Superintendent Moses Morolong long told The Monitor that the incident occurred on Friday at Tumasera village. Speaking about the incident, the Martins Drift police chief said during a fellowship, the members of CRC heard some sound of someone throwing stones on the church roofing.

Additionally, some of the church members went outside to check and recall the person who was disturbing their service. He stated that the same church members found two boys outside but the eldest then fled to their home. “Upon being questioned on their conduct, the younger brother indicated that the older brother aged 20 years was the one throwing stones and he had run away,” added Morolong.

He indicated that the church members then proceeded to the boy’s home to have a word with him but unfortunately, when they got there he was wielding a knife. The 20-year-old then took the knife and stabbed the 46-year-old CRC follower. He stated that the victim was then taken to hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors. Morolong said the suspect is in police custody and will appear at Palapye Magistrate’s Court today (Monday).
