This comes after Modise was found guilty and convicted of indecent assault by Extension II Magistrate,Tshoganetso Atamelang. Modise faced indecent assault and particulars of the offence are that on or about February 15, 2022 in Old Naledi, Gaborone where he is reported to have unlawfully touched the victim's body and in particular, her breasts and crotch area (private parts).
The victim, who is a student, later told her teacher about the incident who then reported the matter to the police and subsequently told the complainant’s parents.
Modise’s attorney Kabelo Nkwe said he might appeal the matter if instructed by the client.
“I need to know what the law says in terms of how my client will be affected as a nominated councillor and how the conviction will affect his political endeavours in future. My client will advise me on how he thinks is best to go about it,” he said in an interview today after court.
