Last week Saturday, a woman was attacked and raped by a stranger while walking to a bar in the company of her friend. No:2 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang told The Monitor that it has been a week and they are still on their toes searching for the unknown man.

He said they have sent the DNA collected from the victim to their forensic lab. “The results will help us locate the suspect as they will use the DNA to possibly locate the unknown suspect.

We are going to check if the results match any of the rape offenders or any other person in our system,” he added. Oketsang stated that at the moment they are still awaiting the results from the lab. Still on a similar matter, the police are yet to arrest the man who allegedly raped his ex-girlfriend whilst out collecting firewood. He said that the suspect's whereabouts are still unknown.

The incidents happened on June 10 in the evening at Moshakgalo Lands near Maape village. Oketsang pleaded with the community to share any information which could be helpful to their investigations so that the culprits can be arrested.
