The talented gospel musician is currently in New York City where he is preparing for the awards ceremony. Kabelo Eric was also nominated for Gospel Choice Music Awards.

He told Art & Culture that the award is one of the four distinguished ones that are not voted for. "This award is given to individuals who have made major contributions to the gospel music industry in their local community, state, nation or around the world.

This will be an additional award ahead of the two awards categories I am nominated in, of which I remain positive to win them too," he proudly said. His single video, ‘Itlhotlhore’ was nominated in three categories thus; Gospel Jazz Artist of the Year, International Male Artist/Vocalist of the Year and Urban Inspirational Artist of the Year.

“This comes after my song "Rato la hao Jeso" entry was selected by the Gospel Choice Music Awards for live performance at the Indie Rock Gospel Music showcase. The event was held in Newark, Delaware in October last year. I then submitted my work and profile on their website for 2023 Music Awards for Gospel Choice Music Awards," Kabelo Eric said.

"After the 2022 Indie Rock Gospel International showcase, I submitted my single music video, my Gospel Jazz "Itlhotlhore", with my portfolio as part of the nomination selection process on the website. Same with Voices of Gospel Music Awards, I submitted my latest Gospel Album single video "Take The Glory" and I got nominated too,” he said."

He further explained that Voices of Gospel Awards will be held on September 9 at Mobile, Alabama. He said Gospel Choice Music Awards is a platform that celebrates and honours those who inspired their generation of gospel music today. He added that they celebrate, recognise and honour talent across the world adding that this will be their 29th year of the Awards edition.

The gospel star was in 2022 selected by the Gospel Choice Music Awards Committee to give a live performance of his song called Rato la hao Jeso at Delaware, USA courtesy of Indie Rock Gospel Artists Showcase.

He further pointed that he was grateful for this recognition as it came from hundreds of submissions that were submitted from different states. “Remember in 2011, I was also nominated in two different international awards and I won number one of the MOAMAS Award-Museke Online Afroteinment Music Awards.
