Sikwane left his post at BFA last month, a year after he replaced Setete Phuthego. At Sikwane’s unveiling, Singida president, Japhet Makau also announced that the club has been sold to Fountain Gate and will now be known as Singida Fountain Gate FC. “We have taken 100% ownership of Singida Big Stars. Olebile Sikwane from Botswana has been introduced as the chief executive of Singida Fountain Gate FC,” Makau told the media briefing.

The club was founded in 2010 as a team of Diamond Trust Bank's employees, known as DTB Football Club. The club would later be sold and renamed Singida. In 2022, Singida Big Stars FC started to participate in the NBC (Tanzanian) Premier League. The club is known for its strategy of recruiting international players with high quality and those who played for big clubs in Tanzania including Simba.
