The Peleng giants confirmed the transfer of the club captain at the general meeting held at the Newlook Primary School on Saturday. The two teams agreed that Rollers pay an upfront amount of P50,000 while the remaining balance of P20,000 shall be paid in the next 20 days from Friday (June 9, 2023).

Gunners had initially demanded P130,000 for the services of Vissage but the two teams agreed to lower the fee. Gunners’ chairperson, Bonno Ngwamotsoko said they were forced to sell one of their key players to ease the club's financial woes.

“I should say we had a cash cow for us. If we have a player that is wanted by other teams and when in this financial state, why not?” Ngwamotsoko said. Popa beat cross town rivals, Gaborone United (GU) to the signature of the attacking midfielder. Vissage ends a three-year stay with Gunners and captained the team for one full season. He has been described as a loyal servant to the Lobatse side.

He was on a P3,500 salary per month but Ngwamotsoko revealed that the player never received a Thebe of the salary agreement during his stay at Gunners. The club has come to an agreement with Vissage for the player not to demand his owed dues. The transfer is to be completed once the transfer window opens. As part of the deal Rollers, will loan Gunners some of the young and fringe players.

Meanwhile, Ngwamotsoko has said the club has made positive strides in bid to lift the transfer ban imposed by FIFA. Gunners were taken before FIFA by former captain, Desire Bafana over unpaid salaries.

They were banned for three consecutive transfer window periods. Ngwamotsoko said the club has agreed on a payment plan with Bafana and the former defender will withdraw his case from FIFA. Ngwamotsoko promised the club will be active in the next transfer window as they prepare for life in the second tier league football.
