The event founder, Sekai Segobye said the show focuses on different African music from Botswana and outside. She explained that the event is a pop, jazz, soulful and rhythmic sounds; a combination of those making up the Afro Fusion hence the birth of the show.

She pointed out that the main objective of the event was to provide entertaining and engaging lifestyle experience. She said they chose music genres that cater for all age groups for the event. Segobye also said their patrons will enjoy and appreciate the music in a tranquil atmosphere where both the young and old could come together to sing along to good music.

She also said they partnered with companies like Wing it On, Sushi Samurai and others to make sure people were fed adding that Notwane Bar & Club would also serve their patrons with cold drinks of all sorts. She said the idea is being sponsored by Adventure 99 (Pty) Ltd. "Our local line-up includes Mpho Sebina, Dato Seiko, Amantle Brown, Han C and the DJs includes Tay Something, DJ Kells, FrostBite, Macx Wa Bana and others. Internationally we have Nomfundo Moh of Phakade'lam and Azana.

Our MCs for the day are the energetic Mdu Tha Party and bubbly Kefus Leo. This is the birth and first edition of Afro Fusion and many more to come; it’s only the beginning.

The idea is to only shift dates and host it in summer instead of winter,” she stated. Just like any other music shows and being a new show, Segoye said they struggled to get media recognition and sponsors.

She said they now have to prove themselves with this edition so that they build a trustworthy brand that people would want to be a part of. However, she said they continue to receive love from Batswana, which has given them hope that the brand would grow.

Tickets for the show sell for P200 single and P350 for double. VIP packages ranges from P1,200 to P2,500. The tickets are sold at Webtickets (Spar outlets) and online and at Liquorama stores Gamecity, Riverwalk, Molapo Crossing and Phakalane.
