Court denies bail to alleged multiple rapist

The accused, Oteng Moalosi, allegedly raped two different women at Gerald Estate on March 12 and 25.
Moalosi pleaded with Magistrate Tshepo Magetse to grant him bail saying that he does not know where his chickens) are and how they are surviving since his incarceration.
Magistrate Magetse then told Moalosi that he is implicated in the commission of two serious cases of rape and asked him what will society say when a person who is accused of having committed two rape cases is granted bail.
Moalosi then said that he will religiously abide by the conditions that will be set by the court.
The accused then reiterated that his chickens are suffering to which Magetse asked him if he is only concerned about his interests at the expense of the interests of the complainants and or society.
“I am also a breadwinner for my family and I am also taking care of my grandmother,” said Moalosi.
Magetse then said: “This court cannot grant bail to a person who is accused of having committed two rape cases. Reasons for denying you bail will be given on June 6. You shall be remanded in custody until the finalisation of this matter.”
