The event organiser, Kaelo Sabone said during a press conference recently that the show is aimed at changing the negative connotations often associated with pork in Botswana.

Sabone said the bottomless pork braai session will also be a demonstration of the potential that pork has in the country, adding that pork meat can be a majorly beneficial agribusiness opportunity for local farmers.

Sabone said this year's Pig-on-Fire has a twist, explaining that as compared to the previous events, this year the event will have all kinds of meat not only pork to cater for non-pork eaters.

The show is themed 'An Extreme BBQ Experience'. For just P350 entrance fee, pork lovers will enjoy unlimited pork braai while children aged 12 and below will have free entry. "The idea is all about creating employment and helping others see the value in small stock enterprise, as we will be using locally manufactured equipment for example from Marvel Cuts in G-west. On the entertainment will have different genres to have patrons jamming, the likes of Sean Miles from SA, Mr Groove, DJ Clearance, DJ 212, and Yarona FM DJs," Sabone said.

This year's event is powdered by Waterstone, Touch Down, Bokomo, Jargermaster, Heineken and Parmalat Botswana. Tickets can be bought at spar, Webtickets, Waterstone offices and Meat on Fire Africa Website.
