She explained that each song has its own catchy vibe. She explained that she chose the song Pula to be the title track because it was her favourite. She added that she wanted the songs to have an African sound so the EP could have a cohesive sound.

The songs include ‘Summer Loving’ in which she features KEB. The song has RnB sound that was African inspired. She explained that she loved working with KEB since he was very professional and talented.

Loeto said KEB’s rap elevated the song. Her other song, ‘All My Love’, is Afro beats. It is a love song. She said it has a tropical vibe as well as an RnB influence.

The title track song, ‘Pula’ is the lead single of the project. She said it was house inspired, adding that it was a song meant to uplift people’s spirits. Her other song ‘Lerato La Gago’ featuring Motlha is also a love song perfect for weddings. In this song, she sings mostly in Setswana. It has more of an Afro Pop influence. She said it was wonderful working with Motlha on the song. The last song in the EP dubbed ‘Cuff It Up’. It is an upbeat RnB and Hip Hop inspired song but still with African influence.

“The inspiration for my EP is my husband. I wanted an immortalised display of my love for him. I wanted our love to show my sons (when they are much older) that true love and true partnership exists and should be celebrated. I make African Pop music, thus I make any African genre. We made this EP in my friend’s bedroom. It was made between the end of November 2022 and early December 2022 and was released March 2023,” she said. Prior to this EP, Loeto had already dropped three singles dubbed ‘Naledi’, ‘Get Into The Groove’ and ‘Pelo Yame’. Her journey in the music industry started in 2020 and she says it has been a wonderful ride thus far.

However, she said there is still a long road to success as there are challenges along the way. She highlighted that one of those challenges is finding artists who are serious to work with. She explained that a lot of people do music as a hobby and not as a profession thus they tend to treat it as such. “It is also difficult to be a professional musician because it is expensive. You have to pay for everything yourself (unless you are signed to a label). There are many costs like studio recording time, buying beats, photo shoot for cover, make-up and hair, music video production and getting holograms. However, I'm happy that my song ‘Naledi’ peaked at number two on the Gabz FM Top 40 countdowns when it was released,” she explained. “It has 12k views on the music video on YouTube this far.

‘Get Into The Groove’ is currently on heavy rotation on radio stations. The music video has 36k views on YouTube and counting while ‘Pelo Yame’ was voted onto the Yarona FM playlist by fans and has been doing well on radio.

It has 48K views on YouTube. This is a big achievement to me as an artist,” she said. Moreover, she said she would like to start doing live performances and start branching out to other markets outside Botswana so that she could expand her fan base and opportunities. She added that she wants to win individual awards in the next few years. She advised aspiring musicians to take their music seriously and professionally and seek collaborations with other artists to increase creativity and always put out quality.
