Premier League champions to receive P750,000

This is a 25% reduction from last season's prize money as champions received P1million then. Jwaneng Galaxy are likely to be crowned champions as they lead the log with five points, with three games to go.
The Botswana Football League (BFL) announced on Thursday that the winners will walk away with P750,000, with the total to be disbursed to the 16teams standing at P3million. "The BFL is delighted to announce the prize monies for the Premier League division 2022/2023 season. The total prize money amounts to P3million, which is made up of operational saving made by the league.
This prize money adds to the grants in aid of P1.6million paid out to member clubs in February 2023," the BFL said in a press statement. "The BFL has paid P4.6million to member clubs in the current season.
This is a significant achievement for our member clubs, considering that the league had to survive from the broadcast sponsor of Btv and the financial partner, Absa Bank, who were the only sponsors in the current season," the statement adds.
