It was one evening of dining and wining at the new look Mahogany’s Restaurant last Thursday as journalists sampled dishes while enjoying the wines on offer which flowed endlessly.

The occasion was a menu tasting following the opening of the restaurant. According to Mahogany’s Chef, Chef Mellisa, each and every item they served on the night is definitely exclusive to them.

From starters, main course to dessert, the food was just appetising and it is safe to say the chef went all out to bring her creativity. Chef Mellisa avers that it required time to perfect the assortment of meals with the new style. This time, Chef Mellisa had prepared a selection of international dishes with Setswana touch and African touch.

The menu was also inspired by the local dishes. For example, one of the starters was the African Sushi made with mosutlhane and phane and or biltong, which creates a new taste sensation.

For dessert, journalists sampled a variety of dishes. One of those was the Crème Brulee, which was a hit among the guests. Each dish was beautifully presented with a balance of colour as the chefs wanted to impress.

Mahogany’s Restaurant management believes that with the new dishes, they have pulled an ace up the sleeve and should establish themselves as the finest in the city in the art of dish making. Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino’s PR and Marketing executive Samantha Bogopa said Mahogany’s Restaurant boasts a menu which will satisfy the appetite of any a dining connoisseur.

She said the plan is to make Mahogany’s Restaurant a dining place of choice in the city with a unique taste that offers wholesome dining experience. One other thing that the restaurant has gotten right is the elegant setting which creates that cosy atmosphere and intimate ambiance for customers. That classy atmosphere could also be complimented by a soothing music to provide a sophisticated experience for diners.
