Man on bail for murder probed for another

The resident of Serorome ward, in Palapye, is currently on bail for a murder he committed some time back in Rakops.
On Saturday morning, the suspect allegedly contacted the girlfriend's relatives by a phone call asking them to check on her claiming that they were attacked and assaulted by strangers on Friday night. No2 District officer commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said upon arrival, her family members found her lying in a pool of blood with injuries on the neck and reported the matter to the police.
Oketsang said following the report, the police went to look for the suspect at his place of residence to no avail until they managed to locate him late at night. “He was taken in for questioning and he is currently in police custody helping with the investigation.
The suspect claims they were attacked and assaulted by strangers while walking on Friday night but we suspect foul play. An investigation has been launched to establish what transpired, especially since he is currently on bail for the murder of his ex-girlfriend,” he said.
