“Everything is set for the AGM to be held at Street of Gold in Block 8 and we are just waiting for the day,” Mokeresete said. “This year, 2023 is an elective year for BONA and three positions are up grabs, which are vice president technical, secretary-general and the treasure,” he added.

The BONA executive committee has seven positions, but only three will be contested for. Oteng Masole and Onkabetse Kesekang will contest for the vice president-technical position while Mmaneke Maplanka, Kereemang Montwedi and Thulaganyo Retshabile have raised their hands for the secretary-general's post. BONA had not released nominees for the treasurer's contest at press time.

“It should be noted that elections for BONA are staggered and they are held every two years and those voted into office have a term of four years,” Mokeresete explained.

He said this year, they will resort to physical voting as opposed to the online poll employed in the recent past. “This time we will be using the ballot boxes and if you remember the last one was done through the online system,” he said. Meanwhile, Mokeresete said the AGM will not only be about the elections, but it will go into other issues that involve the association.

“After the elections, we will then work on the reports for 2022 from the national executive committee from the two zones and also deliberate on motions for this year,” he said. The AGM will start at 8am and is expected to finish in the afternoon. However, Mokeresete said the business of the day could determine how long members will deliberate on netball issues. The theme for this year's meeting is, 'The Importance of Sports Tourism in Sports Development.'
