In an interview with Arts & Culture, Ntshole who is the pageantry’s curator, said Miss Africa Unite is an international platform aimed at promoting peace, unity and fundamental relations among African countries.

She explained that it is more focused on aspects of culture and tourism, women empowerment, embracing originality, talent development and humanity uplifting for Africa.

“Having worked with so many African countries and having seen people break each other down instead of standing together, I believed it was time we try to promote peace and unity among Africans to show how everything is possible if we have a united front. For us to achieve just anything in life whether in pageantry or anywhere, we need unity before everything else,” Ntshole explained.

She further pointed out that the competition was open for all African countries adding that they had 15 confirmed ladies from different African countries that would be competing for the crown. She also added that the pageantry targeted any African lady between the age of 17 and 29 years, no height or weight restrictions adding that they were also taking girls who already have kids.

Ntshole also said it has been a year and a half since they started the pageant adding that the upcoming grand finale would be the first edition ever of Miss Africa Unite. She explained that winners would scoop themselves luxurious crowns, luxurious sashes, P70,000 worth of prizes including fully paid up trips to two selected African countries.

She added that their greatest challenge was lack of support from the government and private entities. However, she said they were still hopeful that some of the local companies would come on board and support them. She explained that their main aim was to see themselves having all African countries under one roof, sharing and promoting their beautiful countries’ tourism and cultural heritage, learning and embracing originality. “We just want to see united African Queens for a better future for Africa under one roof.

With the support of government, we will surely host the next edition again in Botswana, but without support we might need to move it to one of African countries where there is support. The event will kick-off with a fashion parade by Miss Culture Botswana 2023 and Miss Eco Tourism Botswana 2023 finalists who will be sharing stage with the Miss Africa Unite finalists,” she noted. Ntshole added that they would also have a swimwear, cultural, national and evening wear parades by Miss Africa Unite finalists.

Batsumi will entertain the audience on that night. Speaking of their sponsors, she said their main sponsors were StorkFort Health, Ts Motive Production and Cresta Lodge Gaborone. She added that they had both international and local sponsors who include online media and marketing sponsor by D Fashion Magazine, Hezek and Beauty by Dercia from Mozambique, Beauty Hub and Primm Pageant Coaching (from SA), RyanScriptMedia, Pioneer Kid for videography and photography Grandeur Glamour, Poised Clothing Line and Obonetse Originals will also sponsor the event with their designer clothes. She added that they will have a seven days boot camp where finalists would learn a lot about each other’s countries adding that they would also be road trips to different cultural sites by the delegates.
