Divisional Traffic Officer for South Central, Assistant Commissioner Reginald Matlhaba said the accident occurred at around 1am and investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what transpired. “An Audi vehicle had three people on board including the deceased passenger from Mokatako village while the Ford Escape had only the driver on board.

We suspect that one of the vehicles intruded into another lane causing the collision,” he said. “The accident occurred after midnight and we suspect that drunken driving, which remains a major concern amongst most drivers, might be involved.”

He said both drivers escaped the accident with injuries and they are currently hospitalised at Bokamoso Private Hospital. He stated that they continue to register road deaths hence asking motorists to obey road signs, drive at minimum speed and avoid drunken driving to reduce unnecessary deaths.
