Kgosi Mosielele, who is said to be against the appointment of a female kgosana and pushing for his own preferred candidate, is alleged to have said that Thamaga does not need a woman without mophato and that she was too young to lead.

In a recent letter from Pinky, Bone, and Tebogo Gobuamang through their attorney Uyapo Ndadi addressed to Kgosi Mosielele and the acting Thamaga kgosana Segale Gobuamang, the sisters are not happy that Kgosi Mosielele continues to make such remarks despite being told to desist from such. “You are said to have said that our client is too young to be a Kgosi when in fact she is an adult of full legal capacity and 41 years old.

Needless to say that the gender and age discrimination cards are both offensive and unfortunate, to say the least,” reads the letter in part. The sisters, who are all the heirs to the throne as daughters of the late Kgosi Gobuamang Gobuamang, say they are disturbed by yet again offensive remarks Kgosi Mosielele continues to make to disparage Bone Gobuamang to push for his preferred candidate.

Kgosi Mosielele is said to be in support of Billy Gobuamang, the brother to the late Kgosi Gobuamang Gobuamang. The fight for the throne started way back in 2021 when the three sisters decided it was time to reclaim bogosi and succeed their father.

According to their attorney around November 6, 2021, the heirs at a family level informed the tribal leaders that they are ready to succeed their father in particular Pinky who in turn nominated her sister Bone to be the successor on her behalf.

At the time it is alleged that Billy was in attendance at the meeting and in support of the sisters’ quest to reclaim the Kgosana position but has gone back on supporting the heirs coming out clean with his ambition to pursue the throne for himself.

Following many back and forths, the sisters have written another letter to Kgosi Mosielele and Kgosana Segale noting their displeasure with how the issue was being handled. Meanwhile in his response during last week’s Kgotla meeting, Kgosi Mosielele said being accused of not wanting women when he is married was absurd.

He explained that he was only conveying a message as sent by the elders and that it was not his doing. “Since the tribe has spoken, we will go back to the discussions and come back to the tribe with a solution. It is not true I never said I do not want a female leader that is why I am accused of being biased. I was only relaying what the 'majority' was saying,” he said.
