In the widely circulating clip, Bondo appears to repel advances to influence the outcome of a Premier League match as Mojaki pleads with him to meet up with a certain "Zakhem". However, Bondo indicates that he is not interested in meeting with Zakhem “as he has destroyed our football". Last night the BFA released a statement indicating it is investigating the issue. “The audio conversation has the potential to bring the integrity of our product into question and calls for us to take the required steps to restore confidence in football. The BFA has since instituted an investigation into the matter. Forthwith, the implicated officials have been summoned to account,” reads the statement.

“The BFA reassures all stakeholders and partners, including the larger football community that we remain resolute in upholding integrity and ethics espoused by both CAF and FIFA,” the BFA statement added.
