Another woman attacked, raped

This follows an incident in which a 39-year-old woman of Maaloso ward in Poloka was also roused from sleep by an intruder and raped last Saturday night.
On Thursday night, yet another woman, 22, of Borotsi ward, Mookane was attacked and raped whilst walking alone at night.
The suspect, of the same age and a resident of Moora ward in Mookane, came upon the victim on her way while walking alone at around 10pm, dragged her to a nearby open space and raped her. In an interview with The Monitor, Dibete Police Station Commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku said the duo is well acquainted and the suspect has since been arrested.
“The duo was taken to Mahalapye hospital for examination and the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations into the matter are ongoing,” Ranku said. In another matter, Ranku said they are investigating a threat-to-kill case in which a 41-year-old man of Tshipana ward in Mookane village recently threatened to kill his ex-lover, a 47-year-old woman of Letswere ward.
He stated that the suspect allegedly contacted his ex-lover by phone and threatened to kill her. Ranku said the suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody pending investigations.
