Mosimanyane told MmegiOnline that everything went according to plan, with the three athletes running season’s best (SB). He said even though Zibane Ngozi finished in position five, it was an indication that he is coming up well. When asked about the pressure that Letsile Tebogo felt before and after the race, Moshimanyane said the athlete was coping.“He is alright, he knows that this is the beginning of the senior level, it will take some getting used to,” he said. Tebogo has already stamped his ticket for the World Athletics Championships 2023 where he will compete in the 100m and 200m.

The World Junior record holder, Tebogo was running his first 200m of the season. He stopped the clock at 20.00 behind American sprint sensation, Christian Coleman who also clocked 20.00. The two registered the fastest 200m time this year. Scotch powered to the second position with a season’s best (SB) of 45.03 in the men's 400m race. Zibane Ngozi settled for position five with an improved season’s best time of 46.15. The men’s 400m race was won by Alonzo Russel of the Bahamas. The 400m specialist also from Bahamas, Steven Gardiner did not start the race. Bayapo Ndori, Tebogo, Ngozi, Scotch and Mosimanyane have been training in the USA after an invitation from their sponsor, Nike.
