Making the damning allegations before the Speaker of the National Assembly, Phandu Skelemani in Parliament on Wednesday, Moswaane claimed that people are planning to kill him.

“I begged this before you and the president yesterday. I have received threats to kill and there are some people who want to end my life. Masisi mocked me and embarrassed me in Parliament about my late wife,” he said. Moswaane also said he decided to restrain himself when Masisi was ridiculing him. “He said he picked me up when I was losing elections.

He didn’t, I stood up for myself and they are the ones who wanted to expel me from the party. Masisi indicated that I was chased out of the BDP by the person (Ian Khama) who stood in front of my wife’s grave during the funeral,” Moswaane further stated.

Moswaane who was not so long ago thrown out of Parliament said the situation was worryisome because it was the second time someone from Office of the President poke fun at the death of his wife. “The last time it was minister of State president saying the same things. I survived an attack in which I was supposed to be killed with a stone on the head, fortunately it hit the leg.

The suspects were arrested and later released by the police only to flee to their home country Zimbabwe. You should look at this issue closely, even this bottled water in Parliament there is no legislator who wants to drink it especially opposition members. We are not safe at all. The Speaker is the only one who can protect us,” Moswaane said.

Moswaane who was raising his matter as a point of order also alleged that even other MPs such as Dithapelo Keorapetse and Dumelang Saleshando would be lucky if they can live for more than ten years. “Please protect my life Mr Speaker,” he begged.

Chaos soon erupted in the house when Leader of the House and Vice president Slumber Tsogwane said Moswaane’s allegations should not be heard by the nation because they are malicious. “There should be words which should be allowed and not in the house. These are some of the words which should not be listened to by the nation. The issue he raised is something he could have mentioned yesterday when the president was here. The president was clearly clarifying that he was not the one who chased him (Moswaane) from BDP but it was the same person he was with during his wife’s funeral. Moswaane seems to know about all the deaths, he must be an angel of death. If he has a problem he should go to the police and report the matter,” Tsogwane highlighted.

But Moswaane responded, “I am out of order because I am upsetting your government. You kill people, I am just an ordinary man, don’t try to kill me”. For his part, Mogoditshane legislator, Tumiso Rakgare said what Moswaane said should be deleted from parliamentary proceedings because he used the name of the president in damning allegations.

In response Skelemani said if Moswaane had an exchange with the president there is not supposed to be an order of Parliament. “Why didn’t he raise it then? I thought Moswaane would indicate to me what is out of order in the house and whether someone had provoked him. He said he held himself but it doesn’t seem that way, he took an opportunity to go into ballistics”, he said.
