Ka di 29 is a music festival which is held on the 29th of every month whereas Easy Sunday is held every Sunday.

Ka di 29 was created to promote quality entertainment in the city and provide a platform for both local and international acts to showcase while Easy Sundays was introduced to feed the local customers' demand for entertainment on Sundays.

Easy Sunday is usually more cultural and themed and promotes different entertainment aspects. Ka di 29 was founded by Brianton 'SG' Gaseitsiwe who later recruited Khumo Taolo as a co-organiser and business partner in 2021.

In an interview with Taolo (26), he told Arts & Cultures that Ka di 29 was established in September 2021 after it was announced following the opening of the entertainment scene post the COVID-19 pandemic. He said the first show was hosted on October 29, 2021 after lockdown. Taolo said over 150 local youth have benefited directly and indirectly from the previously shows.

These include DJ’s, promotion agents, musicians and MCs. Additionally 50 local companies of which 80% are youth-owned have also enjoyed the financial benefits from the music festivals. "Some of the companies which have benefited from the initiative include Secure Bands, Webtickets, Molapo Leisure Gardens, Italian Embroidery, Ghetto Phat Sounds, Molapo Riverside Deck, Cresta Botsalo Palapye, Cresta Lodge Gaborone, and Cresta Thapama Francistown for their services due to our events," Taolo said.

He said they have failed to continuously host the events due to financial constraints and mixed booking from international acts. Last week, as part of SG's birthday Bash themed, ‘All Black Everything,’ the duo event organisers hosted for the first time in Francistown, South African musician Murumba Pitch. The event was highly attended despite the unfavorable weather conditions.
