Rollers changes: Kgabung checks out as Pheto checks in

Public Relations Officer Bafana Pheto will step up and assume the role of chair effective April Fool's Day. "Township Rollers Football Club would like to notify its members, supporters, and stakeholders that Club Chairman Walter Kgabung has resigned from his role effective March 31," the club says in a statement on Monday. "A meeting of the club executive committee on Monday night co-opted Mr Bafana Pheto as chairman effective April 1 until the next elective annual general meeting (AGM) on July 29.
Mr Pheto will be working hand in hand with Club Media Officer Pako Lebanna in the Public Relations and Communications role," the statement adds. Rollers have been rocked by boardroom issues with chief financier and president, Jagdish Shah, due to leave at the end of May. There are still talks between the society and Shah, but indications are the long-time investor could be on his way out which could usher in a new era for the country's most successful club.
