The accident occurred at around 5:30am when the duo was driving from the west facing the eastern part into Mochudi village.

In an interview with The Monitor, Mochudi Police Station Commander, Superintendent Joel Masilo said the accident occurred after the driver, a 30-year-old man, lost control of the car and drove into the oncoming lane resulting in the head-on collision.

“The passenger died on the spot while the driver escaped with serious injuries and is currently hospitalised at the Gaborone Private Hospital with a fractured right leg. The minibus had eight people onboard and only two amongst them had sustained minor injuries and were treated and released the same day,” Masilo said.
