Btv to air Bagaka Ba Pele

For Ramasu, this is a dream come true. His show called Bagaka Ba Pele is a television documentary series aimed at updating viewers on entertainers, authors, athletes, radio, TV personalities and others who have played a crucial part in shaping the entertainment industry but have since faded out of the limelight.
Ramasu told Arts & Culture that Bagaka Ba Pele is divided into 13 episodes and it is a 24 minutes long series commissioned and approved by Btv. “The series looks at what these icons mean to the older generations as well as the present generation and it also focuses on their past and present experiences on different entertainment and sports sectors.
I am the founder, the producer and the presenter of the show. However, I am having financial difficulties in the production of the show,” he said. He said the challenges emanated from difficulties in getting research materials, transport and payment of the film crew. He pointed out that the production of the whole project was P2.5 million and therefore called for the corporate sector to have a hand in Bagaka Ba Pele. He said businesses willing to sponsor the show would in return benefit from advertising spaces in the show.
He, however, stated that he was not sure when the documentary would start airing on TV. Ramasu is not new in the television and film industry. He acted as an extra in the BBC movie, which was shot in Botswana, ‘The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency’. He said it was in that movie where he rubbed shoulders with celebrities like Idris Elba and Gill Scott.
He added that he had previously produced a TV show during the advent of COVID-19 in 2020, which ran on Btv called Morethetho Wa Serubi. He is also an author of three books.
