Amapiano Night closes Mahika Mahikeng in style

The weekend-long event which was divided into three phases, Gospel Show, Jazz Festival, and Amapiano Night, was filled with fun, glam, and everything devotees have been eagerly waiting for.
Whilst the three festivities were worth attending and quite frankly, successfully entertaining, Amapiano Night stood out as the best among them all. This was not much of a surprise because Amapiano music is the biggest thing to come out of South Africa in recent times.
The genre has aggressively taken the music industry by storm and Mahika Mahikeng lined up the best of Amapiano music pioneers in the likes of the Scorpion Kings.
The night kicked off with fledgling Amapiano artists, most of whom were Mafikeng locals. The mood was then elevated to the top by the Scorpion Kings themselves, a duo combination of Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa (Madumane). First to show face was Kabza De Small, doing his magic on the decks for a few minutes and later DJ Maphorisa joined in.
The duo sent patrons to cloud nine when they played hits such as Asibe Happy, Hello, and Abajuluke. Young Stunna was also impressive on the night. The 2022 SAMA Best Selling Artist delivered an exceptional and electrifying performance on stage.
Young Stunna rose to fame in 2021 as part of the piano hub roster- when he featured on Felo Le tee and Mellow and Sleazy’s smash Amapiano hit, Bopha. He unapologetically performed hits such as Sete, Tetema, Adiwele, and uShaka.
Daliwonga, Areece, Focallistic, and Mas Musiq equally performed well. Kwesta dropped the ball when he appeared on stage intoxicated. He was more of a surprise act and shocked many of his fans with his unruly behaviour. After being out of the limelight for quite a stretch, Fifi Cooper returned to Mahika Mahikeng with a below-par performance. Nonetheless, the Mahika Mahikeng Amapiano Night was a night to remember. It was well organised and coordinated and most of the acts brought on their A-game. It is safe to say the Amapiano Night wrapped up the festival in style.
