Decision time: Ngwamotsoko has been requested to rescind his decision

Last week, Ngwamotsoko told Mmegi Sport he was leaving the post due to the disorganisation within the struggling giants. However, Ngwamotsoko has been asked to rescind his decision and stay put.

“There have been new developments that I should reconsider my resignation until I have a meeting with the elders and other sub-committees at the club,” he said this week. However, despite being asked to meet the elders and the sub-committees, Ngwamotsoko remains resolute that his decision will remain unchanged.

He said his intention is, through his resignation, to protect his other interests. He, however, said if he is 'confused' he could change his mind based on the outcome of the meeting with the elders.

"But if I am not confused, I will stand by my decision to leave the club," he said. Asked what pushed him to the edge, Ngwamotsoko said it is mainly because he feels the club has lost its integrity over the years as it is not the same the club it used to be. “Honestly, I felt our committee doesn’t have integrity as they are always not engaging relevant stakeholders.

They are not discussing issues relating to the team with stakeholders and also they are not attending to any issues with urgency,” a concerned Ngwamotsoko said. “Gunners do not have a sponsor so all the players at Gunners are owed,” he added. Defender Desire Bafana is owed P400,000 and FIFA has ordered the club to pay him within 45 days from February 20.

Gunners chairperson, Bruno Masisi preferred not to comment on the situation unfolding on the beleaguered side. “Allow me not to comment for now but I will give you a comprehensive interview as both matters are still under discussion internally,” Masisi said. Gunners are having a bad season as the team is rooted at the bottom of the 16-team table.
