On-duty guard 'commits suicide'

The new building is next to Galo Mall. He said the incident took place on Friday night whilst the deceased person was on duty. The Central station commander stated that the guard was working for Western Security company. At the time of committing the offence, the security guard was on duty with two of his colleagues.

"The trio reported for their night shift at around 6pm. At around 7pm they started doing their rounds. Unfortunately, when they got to the fourth floor they found their colleague hanging on the premises," he added. It is alleged that the man left early for the patrol. Kesupile stated that the deceased did not leave any suicide note and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The deceased person was staying at Block 1 location but originated from Senete village. Kesupile has encouraged people to seek professional help when there is trouble or crisis in their lives because suicide is never a solution but a burden to those left behind. Francistown has recorded alarming suicide cases since the beginning of this year.

Last month a woman aged 20 took her own life after a misunderstanding with her boyfriend. In February still, a 20-year-old and former student at Francistown Senior Secondary School committed suicide. The young man was found hanging on the rafters of a lavatory in their yard at the Block 8 location.
