Father threatens to kill children, commit suicide

The 28-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after threatening to kill his two children and commit suicide.

In the recent incident, the father visited Broadhurst Police Station to seek help from the police after having a misunderstanding with the mother of his two children, girls aged seven and three. While the police were still waiting for the 26-year-old mother to come to the police station, the father discreetly called the mother and threatened to kill his children and commit suicide.

Broadhurst Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said they were shocked when the mother arrived and told them a different story from the father of her children.

“We then decided to hold the father in police custody and investigate the matter further. We couldn’t take his threats lightly following the recent incident in which a father is suspected to have killed his two kids and committed suicide,” Lokae said.
