For this reason, the Debswana First Division South League side decided to part ways with Nare just three months into the job. Chico joined Magosi in late December.

He went on to guide the team to three wins in six games in charge. The coach has been on suspension for over a week now as his last game in charge was a 2-0 win over Holy Ghost in the Orange FA Cup. Nare had before the tie fallen out with the Magosi faithful after the team registered a 2-1 loss to Uniao Flamengo Santos.

Chiefs at the time dropped to the fourth spot and six behind the then leaders, CRACKiT City Polar. Nare needed a police escort after the league defeat, as it appeared the Magosi faithful had had enough of their coach's management skills and called for his sack just less than two months into the job. Nare met his fate on Wednesday evening during a meeting with the club's management, which marked the end of an unsettled tenure. "We have parted with Nare, solely for poor results and his safety," Chiefs' chairperson, Victor Kobe told Mmegi Sport yesterday.

Fresh into his contract, Kobe refused to discuss Nare's parting costs. The club has started the hunt for a new head coach while assistant coach, Patrick 'Barney' Molefe will take over on an interim basis. Mmegi Sport is reliably informed that Magosi are eyeing the services of Thaloba 'Machine' Nthaga. 'Machine' is doing a great job at Notwane as the team tops the log standings. It is said that Chiefs' delegation met with Nthaga last week.

The deal is at the preliminary stages with the stumbling block reportedly Nthaga's demands to bring his own backroom staff. But Nthaga has denied the reports while Kobe said the information is just mere rumours.

"Those are just rumours and in the meantime, Patrick Molefe will remain our interim coach. We have not sat to discuss who will be our new head coach but Barney will be the interim head coach until such a time when we decide otherwise," Kobe said. The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has meanwhile instructed Chiefs to revert to the standard P25 match day ticket. Chiefs charged P30 for some of their matches. The First Division South committee reported the club to BFA and the matter is yet to be heard.

Kobe said the second tier deserves money for its value and the club will rally stakeholders for a change in the match tickets pricing. "We will be calling all the north and southern block chairmen soon to decide on the matter and make a resolution to BFA for ratification. Honestly, the time is now that the second league in the country must start embracing its existence and the quality of football it brings in the development of football," Kobe said. Chiefs will begin the post-Chico era against VTM FC in the Orange FA Cup.
