In an interview with Arts & Culture, he said his works were mostly inspired by nature and the immediate environment. He added that he also does abstract or non-objective works too. Titus explained that his interest in art started at junior school as he had a keen interest in the subject.

“It was also the love that I had for art that made me pursue art. There is interest in my work from the public obviously with challenges as some would love your work and then you have those who are not so much into the arts. Most of my works to me are very important. I value most of my works equally, be it a painting, drawing and others,” he said.

Speaking of the challenges he faces as a local artist, Titus pointed out that one of the major challenges he and other artists face was selling their products to the market.

He said in Europe art is highly valued and regarded as big compared to the local market. “We need a lot of exposure for our artifacts locally so that they gain exposure internationally and that is how we are going to grow our art so that it reaches very high standards. As for achievements, like I have said I am a part time practicing visual artist.

I have not participated in any major exhibitions yet so I would not say that I have achieved awards for my work. I just find joy in art and in my works that is all that matters to me mostly,” Titus noted.

The talented Werda-born man said as an artist, locally he looks up to Wilson Ngoni. He said he just loves Ngoni’s works and how he portrays his subject matter in his works. Internationally, he mentioned the likes of Leonardo da Vinci’s, Pablo Picasso’s, Salvador Dali and a few others who inspired him. His message to upcoming artists is that they should never give up once they have started their artistic road.

He added that they should have the courage and believe that one day they will reach their goal. He further advised them to have a work ethic saying nothing comes as a freebie in life.
